HuskyHealth Application

HuskyHealth represents a cutting-edge initiative at Northeastern University, introducing a sophisticated Personal Health Record (PHR) System that seamlessly integrates technology with healthcare management. Developed on a foundation of robust REST APIs and MySQL, this innovative app, powered by Appsmith, serves as a centralized hub for students, faculty, and staff to efficiently manage their health information securely.

The User-Friendly Interface of HuskyHealth is carefully tailored to cater to diverse users, including patients, doctors, insurance representatives, and wellness coaches. This interface facilitates easy access to a wide array of features, ensuring a smooth experience for everyone involved in the healthcare ecosystem at Northeastern University.

One of the standout features is the Centralized Health Management system, which allows users to access and manage their medical histories, prescriptions, allergies, and vaccination records all in one digital space. This consolidation enhances the efficiency of healthcare management, providing a holistic view of an individual’s health profile.

Appointment Streamlining is another key aspect, empowering users to schedule health consultations, counseling sessions, and wellness check-ups directly through the platform. This feature not only simplifies the process for users but also contributes to more effective time management within the healthcare system.

Furthermore, HuskyHealth offers a unique approach to Personalized Wellness Education, delivering tailored content ranging from stress management strategies to nutrition tips. The User Personas, including Patients, Doctors, Insurance Representatives, and Wellness Coaches, have distinct roles and functionalities within the app. Patients can access their health records, schedule visits, and receive timely reminders. Doctors can efficiently manage patient appointments, access health records securely, and engage in confidential communication. Insurance Representatives benefit from streamlined information access, contributing to efficient claim processing. Wellness Coaches, meanwhile, can schedule visits, provide guidance, and enhance user wellness education.

To facilitate the deployment of this comprehensive system, the project provides a Docker setup with three containers: a MySQL 8 container for database access, a Python Flask container to implement REST APIs, and a Local AppSmith Server to access the HuskyHealthApp. The setup process involves creating password files for MySQL, building Docker images, and starting the containers.
